Task in the Mind · Last updated 28 September 2026
Task in the Mind is an alarm-style task app. It is built to keep your data on your phone and in your control.
What stays on your phone
Your tasks, lists, alarm times, settings and chosen ringtone are stored only on your device. The app has no accounts of its own, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Optional Google Drive backup
If you choose to sign in with Google in Settings, the app asks for one permission: drive.appdata, which lets it read and write only its own hidden app folder in your Google Drive. It cannot see, open or change any of your other Drive files.
- What is backed up: your tasks, lists, settings and, if you picked one from your files, your custom ringtone.
- Where it goes: a hidden folder in your own Google Drive. It never passes through or is stored on any server run by the developer.
- Your email address is read only to show which account is signed in, and is kept on your phone.
- You can delete the backup from Settings in the app, or from Google Drive under Settings → Manage apps. Signing out stops all backups.
Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Permissions
Notifications, exact alarms, full-screen alerts and starting after reboot are used only so your alarms ring on time. Internet is used only for Drive backup and restore.
Sharing
No data is sold, shared or sent to the developer or any third party.
